GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP IN COASTAL SCIENCE - Louisiana State University

The School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Sciences at Louisiana State University is seeking an outstanding applicant to pursue an MS in Coastal Science. The successful candidate will research on evaluation of genetic diversity for cold tolerance in black mangrove populations of Louisiana.

The Louisiana Sea Grant College Program will administer this coastal science assistantship with funding provided by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR). The stipend amount is $25,000 per annum up to three years. The prospective graduate student will be required to complete 240 hours of internship with the Coastal Restoration Division of the LDNR at mutually convenient times during their pursuit of the master’s degree.

Applicants should have a BS in horticulture, crop science, botany, biology, genetics, environmental science or closely related fields.
