GRADUATE ASSISTANT - University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture anticipates openings for graduate students interested in pursuing either the MS or PhD degree in Floriculture or Ornamental Horticulture. Graduate assistantships and scholarships are available to support highly qualified students with a competitive stipend and tuition waiver.

Teaching assistantships support undergraduate instruction in Horticulture. Students with prior knowledge of greenhouse production, woody or herbaceous ornamental plant identification, plant propagation, or floral art, are especially competitive for these awards. The ability to communicate clearly in spoken English is essential.

Research assistantships are dependent on project-related funding awarded to individual faculty. Current areas of interest for research support include: fertilization strategies to comply with organic certification requirements in greenhouse production.

We invite prospective applicants to visit the Department website at http://psla.uconn.edu for further information.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit an inquiry and resume (including copies of transcripts) for prescreening. Contact: Dr. George C. Elliott george.elliott@uconn.edu
