About the Meeting

The NEWSS meeting begins on Monday, 4 January, with a graduate student mixer. Our students are welcome to attend if they have arrived in Cambridge by then. However, NEASHS official events do not begin until Wednesday morning. Please note that the NEWSS keynote speaker, the lead-in to the symposium, will speak on Tuesday morning; the remainder of symposium presentations will be on Wednesday morning.

The outline schedule is tentative (see box, next page) and cannot be finalized until the number of presentations is known—therefore the title submission deadline is early this year to allow time for coordinating with NEWSS. Also, the poster session may be held on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning(to be decided).

There are no plans for tours associated with the meeting but information on attractions of interest within reach via public transportation will be provided. Recommended by Carolyn deMoranville is the Harvard Museum of Natural History’s glass flower collection
