ASHS is pleased to announce the availability of 143 new video presentations captured during the St. Louis ASHS Annual Conference in July. The newest batch of online recordings begin with the 2009 "Tex" Frazier Keynote Lecture and extend through 27 oral and workshop sessions. Individual presentations ranged from "A Program Level Assessment Model for the Horticulture Baccalaureate Degree" to "Yield and Postharvest Quality Attributes of Date Palm Are Affected by Sub-Optimal Irrigation During Fruit Development."
Recordings were made by Tim Rhodus, ASHS Editor for Digital Information Resources, Kevin Rhodus (son) and Bud Witney, ASHS Network and Online Systems Manager. Elaine Eberlin, OSU Systems Specialist assisted in the post-production editing and organizing of all digital photos, PowerPoint presentations and captured videos.
Browsing the entire collection of 490 presentations recorded between 2006 and 2009 is available at: ashs.org/db/horttalks
For each presentation, a photo of the presenter, a copy of their opening slide, the printed abstract, and links to other speakers in the same session are provided. A 3D Wall effect linking each of the new recordings was also added to the 50 ASHS Working Group Network sites.
ASHS President Bill Lamont noted that the Annual Conference, "... was indeed a smorgasbord of horticultural delights of which many will soon be able to be viewed..." Reflections, August, 2009.
That time is now. Enjoy.
