Plant Growth Regulation Society of America
The Plant Growth Regulation Society of America was founded in 1973 as a forum for scientists from diverse disciplines to exchange ideas and information about the different facets of plant growth regulation. The Society held annual conferences from 1974 through 2017. What would have been the Society’s 45th annual meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico 2018 was cancelled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. This setback followed a declining membership in the Society and attendance at annual conferences. In 2019, the decision was made to disband the PGRSA as a standalone society and merge it into the Plant Growth Regulator Professional Interest Group of the American Society for Horticultural Science.
The assets of the PGRSA have been turned over to ASHS for use by the PGR Professional Interest Group to continue the mission of the PGRSA by supporting the general activities of the PGR Professional Interest Group and, more specifically, student involvement in the PGR Professional Interest Group.
We hope that you will continue to support the PGRSA’s mission by becoming involved in the ASHS PGR Professional Interest Group if you are not already.
